The Fellowship Circle
A donor-informed approach to designing a recurring giving program that donors actually want to join.
Challenge & Goal
Create a scalable recurring giving model to fund national ministry needs outside of direct staff support.
Solution
To establish sustainable recurring giving for InterVarsity, Share Services developed "The Fellowship Circle," a research-led brand system that reframed the ask from abstract support to tangible "frontline ministry" partnership. By rejecting transactional gimmicks in favor of a relationship-focused experience design, the strategy created a frictionless monthly journey and a first-year cultivation sequence built on trust and spiritual alignment.
Highlights:
- Conducted surveys and interviews to identify that donors value clarity and spiritual alignment over "insider status" gimmicks.
- Reframed recurring giving from abstract organizational support to providing tangible resources for discipling students.
- Created a scalable, faith-forward brand identity where student growth and the next generation of leaders serve as the primary value proposition.
- Implemented communication flows that emphasize relationship and partnership rather than transactional membership.

Looking Forward
By leading with deep donor research and resisting the urge to use standard "membership perks," the organization now has a recurring giving vehicle that honors donor motivations. This strategic foundation allows InterVarsity to confidently invite donors to support the infrastructure, scholarships, and resources that make their ministry to students possible.
